The first part of the journey was pretty much at crawl speed. Convenient for picture taking without fancy camera equipment which is always a challenge in China.
Modern times will arrive sooner… or maybe much later? Bang Sue Grand Station was supposed to be the new railway hub, but online news are not very clear about actual plans and future.
At about 6 pm train crew members started to convert the seats into beds. My turn came shortly after 7 pm. I unsuccessfully tried to persuade the attendant that I don't need a bed for the remaining 45 minutes of my journey. But at least they were now aware of my destination and very helpful when it was my time to disembark.
