Scooters glide by. All you hear is the soft whizz of the wheels.

Sitting inside a moving car feels the same. No engine rumble. Just the faint sound of motion.

This is traffic in China nowadays.

I caught myself looking for exhaust pipes — as if I needed proof. I spotted a few on expensive brands and the occasional old work truck. But most vehicles passed silently.
